The Make Your Getaway Duffle Take 3

When I made this post a few weeks ago, many commenters suggested that I experiment with fabric selection.  I find sewing to be fun since you have such a huge palette of beautiful fabrics to choose from.  I love big bold fabrics that make a statement.  I'm not comfortable wearing really bright clothing~ mostly browns, grey, black, jeans and sometimes a bright shirt but kinda toned down with a neutral scarf.  A brighter bag really works for me so I feel more stylish and modern.  I chose the Anna Maria Horner fabric for that reason~ have a bright and bold element to my outfit but still be wearing all the neutrals I am more comfortable in.

Taking a pattern picture is challenging for that reason~ you have to think of other people imagining their fabrics in the project.  After reading the comments I still loved the bag I made for me,  but  I decided to ask my friend Amy if she could remake the bag so people could see it differently.   She is so talented and her style is adorable but still modern and stylish.   We both thought it would be fun to see what she came up with.  I just love how they turned out!  Here they are~

 
Amy choose her favorite designer Heather Bailey for the adult sized duffle.  You'll have to ask her about that adorable fabric for the child's bag.  My girls are smitten with those deer!

 A commenter suggested that we stack some clothes in front so lookers can see the size of the bag.

Amy and I both loved that suggestion and it really works here on the child's bag.  

I like how fun the combination of these 2 fabrics are.  This is what was fun about collaborating with another sewer friend ~ I wouldn't think to make this combination but I love how it turned out!  That ribbon hanging from the zipper is darling too.

How wonderful to see the bag with piping. The lines of the bag are really beautiful! Once my Christmas sewing is done, I'd like to tackle one of these babies myself (and an art-tote, as well). I'm happy to see that my idea was helpful.

I think that the addition of the piping is terrific. Your bag pattern looks great. I saw these bags at Amy's house and I liked the way that they were constructed. I hope you sell lots of patterns!
